Your First Appointment... The Initial Exam At this appointment, we provide our patient with a complimentary thorough evaluation by the doctor as well as review of the medical history. If the clinical findings warrant treatment, the following records will be taken: impressions, digital x-rays and photographs. We will review the expected length of treatment, the cost involved, and any insurance benefits. These records will be analyzed by the doctor. The doctor will then coordinate the treatment with your family dentist if necessary. After the doctor has evaluated your records, we discuss your treatment with you in detail, including the cost for your particular case. Regular appointments... When And How Long The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes 1 to 2 hours. You’ll then see us at regular intervals 4 to 8 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 20 to 40 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately. Payment & Office Policies And some words about... Our Fees Everyone’s mouth is different. Therefore, orthodontic fees vary greatly depending on the complexity of the problem and the time and type of appliance necessary for treatment. Usually, our fees can be paid over an extended period of time without interest. Many payment options are available including automatic checking withdrawal, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. What about... Insurance We will take care of all of the insurance filings. Some dental insurance plans provide orthodontic benefits. If you are eligible for orthodontic benefits, you should provide us with a claim form from your insurance company. We will gladly assist you in completing it. We do accept most insurance assignments. Keeping up with your treatment... Online Services Sign up for our Ortho Sesame™ program, and have access to your x-rays, receive appointment reminders by e-mail, and check your payment history. Come one, come all... Transfers Patients moving into the area already in braces are most welcome. |
